Crazy SEO Achievement for my FaizSuberi.com website

Alright, so earlier today I was just doing some keyword research right? Then I was testing out how my website was responding in search engines. To my surprise, one of my dumb articles called ‘Basic Guide to Blogging‘ actually made it to #4 out of 55 million page views on Google.

#4 out of 55 million...dayum

The strange thing about it was that I never had the article Dugg out or even submitted to search engine directories. Hardly gave the article a tweet even, let alone bookmarked it. I haven’t even started on my link exchange campaign yet!

Man, I guess Rob Benwell wasn’t joking around when he wrote about organic search engine results and real unique blogging in his ebook. Gosh.

Simple ways to build free and targeted web traffic

Posted on March 24, 2010
Filed Under General | 2 Comments

Building web traffic for free is often the most sought-after solution. This is due to it’s simple nature of providing the most opportunities of success with no investment of money whatsoever. Furthermore, traffic building tactics that are free is extremely cost effective. The only weakness is however, is the fact that building targeted web traffic through free methods are often time consuming. Then again, given the proper leverage applied coupled with a snowball effect, a website can easily gain popularity, regardless of the audience’s location , origin and background.

  • Article Marketing. By far the oldest (and best) trick in the book, and the hardest to stick to as we have to write articles almost every other day. Even more time consuming if you have to write article contents for both on- and off- your website or blog. However, the effects are long term as you build back-links every time you publish an article. And this is what most smart affiliate marketers are looking for.
  • Social Media Marketing. By the far the best method of building targeted web traffic. Social media marketing pages like HubPages, LinkedIn, Squidoo, Gather, Twitter, Digg, Delicious, Facebook and even Tumblr are not only gaining popularity, it’s simply sought after. The practical nature of these dynamic Web 2.0 pages having to update AND network (linked up) frequently makes it an almost ‘biased’ favorite in Google. Furthermore, it really helps in spreading the word.
  • Commenting. An important subset to all that is free. Commenting (when done right) exposes your website or blog in search engines even more. Robots crawling people’s blogs or bookmarked articles in Delicious would end up crawling your blog when you comment them. So take the time to visit high ranking (and relevant) blogs to leave comments.
  • Videos. Like YouTube (which is also social media) is very effective in nature. As web traffic is more responsive towards moving pictures and sound, videos make it great to start discussing a topic, leading your followers to a ’solution’ they must buy. Venturing in this field is indeed exciting. Make a few ‘how-to’ videos and comment on others to get things started and you’re well on your way.

So there you have it. Basically those are the top methods of generating free targeted traffic, something you must consider the moment you start a blog or website that you intend to promote. Remember, no web traffic means no money. Period.

Comment me and let me know if I missed out anything.

Making a Great Post

Posted on March 18, 2010
Filed Under General | Leave a Comment

Now, a great post that is anything that would stay in the readers mind, at least for days to come. Such an effect would actually encourage readers to come back for more. If that is not enough, think of the amount people that they can spread the word to. A little increase in traffic indicates multiplicity. The more visitors you get, the more will come.

Now, on with the tips of making a great blog post. These are just SOME of the tips used in making a great post:

  • Simplicity. Keep it short in point form, and tell the readers what they need to know. Normal people have a short attention span.
  • Issue-based. Relate your post with the current going-ons around the world. Not only would they enrich your content with keywords, but readers can relate to it.
  • Help out. Try to solve something. Like you reading this post. You wanted to know how to write a great post right?
  • Media. Don’t restrict yourself to text. Put a video or a picture. A comic strip. Make a post that would actually make someone laugh!
  • Inspire. Being inspirational makes all the difference. People love having someone to look up to, or make an example out of. Write something encouraging!
  • Give it a break. Sometimes, the a blogger should chill from writing too much serious stuff. Like me. I should chill sometimes…anyways, write something funny or embed a funny video you found on youtube.
  • Interaction. Encourage comments. Discussions not only keep the readers coming back, but they would actually encourage you to write something better next time. Or at least you know what to expect the next you make a post.

So those are just some of the tips you might find helpful. There’s a lot more. But let’s take it one step at a time.

Affiliate Marketing 101

Posted on March 16, 2010

Alright you newbies. Here’s a short post to those who are still new to this. What da heck is affiliate marketing?

It’s easy. A publisher makes a product right? Anything from a DVD, a software that cleans up your computer, an eBook giving you tips on how to be a better blogger, videos on how to be a better lover, ANYTHING that potential buyers would buy and download or have it shipped to their homes.

Now, to expect the publisher to do all the selling is next to impossible right? Well, he or she could, but one person could only sell it to so much people without making the desired amount of profits (unless the price of the product is marked up). So there’s got to be a better way to exploit on internet traffic and make all those sales right? Because obviously higher volumes means bigger cash!

So here’s how it goes:

  1. So the publisher then makes an ‘affiliate program’. What it does is that anyone could sign up as his or her affiliate. Yes, you, me, anybody…for free.
  2. We sign up, we get an ‘affiliate ID’, linked to the product we’re going to help him/her sell. In the world of internet/affiliate marketing, this is known as the ‘affiliate link’. You have the same web address pointing to the product, except that at the end of the URL there’s a string of characters. You can bet your affiliate ID is in there.
  3. You put that link anywhere you want, well, at least anywhere you think that people would click on. You could even embed that link into a banner. What’s for sure is, if someone clicks on that link, they’ll be taken to the sales page, the affiliate system you signed on to will know that you’re the affiliate promoting links.
  4. Okay, here’s the magic, most of the time, the sales page does all the selling, and when the customer buys, you get the commission!

So to sum it all up, affiliates promotes ‘links’ with their ID attached to it. The trickiest part is to get someone to click on that link and the sales page and the affiliate system will do the rest.

This is the best of both worlds. You don’t need to worry about making or selling your own products, no PayPal and credit card buttons to setup on your blog or website. Heck, you don’t even have to worry about delivery and technical support!

That’s why affiliate marketing is so popular (besides being rather competitive of course). Then again, it’s easy to compete if you know how to do it right. Now I hope it’s clear to you what is affiliate marketing and why it’s so lucrative.

Just remember, affiliates promote links. Beyond that is to give anyone a reason to simply click on it. That’s it.
